INDONESIAN, ORGANIC SUMATRA GAYO SUPREME ARABICA
This amazing specialty grade 1 coffee is available only for a limited time. We will roast only until stocks last on this one. From the sub-region of Gayo, these farmers focus on strict quality control through hand picking and sorting. The cherries in appearance are quite large, which is believed to be due to a mutation of older seedlings from when these trees were first planted out in the area in Sumatra.
These coffee trees are grown typically at an elevation of 1400+ meters above sea level, and use a traditional wet hulling process, that produces a well-balanced cup across most roasting profiles from medium up to dark. The internal cupping score of 85+ represents the excellence of this coffee crop.
Cup Profile: A bold cup with a nutty and earthy overtone in flavour. Syrupy sticky body from the darker type of roast, leads to a long caramel and cream finish.
Roast: Optimal coffee roast suits medium to dark roast. Requires at least 5 days of resting time after roast.
