Organic Coffee from our Nepalese estate is owned by our exclusive partners at the Plantec Coffee Estate in Nepal. The owner & organic coffee farmer Ujjal Rana is a lively and passionate Nepali, whose organic coffee business is giving back to the people of Nepal.
He has been operating the Battar Bazaar Organic Coffee Estate for over 20 years. We are lucky enough to have very strong relations with the estate which is producing a consistently specialty 85+ Arabica organic coffee crop. The farm is located at approx. 1200 metres above sea level just below the snow line, at the foot of the Ganesh Himal mountain range. It is situated on the banks of the snow-fed Trishuli River irrigating the estate’s field & assisting with the washing process of these special beans. This is what makes this very special organic coffee very popular in Europe, Asia and Australia.
Presently a 70 hectare coffee plantation in this vast Himalayan belt is the only producer of a superior quality specialty graded Himalayan organic coffee. The snow melt water washed & shade grown coffee is USDA organic certified & sun dried. The 100% organic coffee Caturra Arabica beans are relatively short in height making for easier nurturing at harvest time.
Site visits from the USDA are conducted annually ensuring all processes and practices to the strictest standard are followed, allowing us to be confident in providing you with the best standard in organic coffee.
Cup Profile – This Organic Coffee has a very mild acidity, light body and soft-smooth flavour, Mount Everest by Happy Farmer has delicate floral tones with hints of jasmine and cinnamon.
We recommend this single origin organic coffee to be made espresso style or with a 50/50 ratio of coffee & milk.
